There are guides, and then there are guides, but this is the easy way to slipstream SP2, and put it on a bootable CD.......
SP2 MUST be the network install version avaliable from http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6/5/165b076b-aaa9-443d-84f0-73cf11fdcdf8/WindowsXP-
1: Copy the contents of your XP CD into a folder (C:\XP)
2: Copy SP2 into another folder (C:\SP2)
3: Click "Start > Run" and type " C:\SP2\WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe -x " to extract the SP2 files, choosing C:\SP2 as the target directory for the extracted files.
4: Click "Start > Run" and type " C:\SP2\i386\Update\Update.exe -S:C:\XP " to apply the service pack.
5: Download
http://www.reddeathdrinker.co.uk/xp/CDImage_Home.zipor http://www.reddeathdrinker.co.uk/xp/CDImage_Pro.zip. Unzip to " C:\XP\ISO " (for neatness). If you have followed the folder names in this guide exactly, you should only have to execute the .cmd file in C:\XP\ISO, otherwise, please read the readme.txt
6: Burn the .iso image created in C:/XP/ to disc, and install.
I did not create this nor will i give lots of details on how to do it, if it dont work you did some thing wrong, as it has worked for me ONLY IF U FOLLOW IT WORD FOR WORD.
Quoted off another forum all credit given to "reddeathdrinker" off the ocforums.com for his work put into this.
