seems very very slow - taking 20-30secs for the page to even start loading.

O-CuK is fine on my home line, just when running via JANET, it takes ages. any other website seems fine.

i doubt it's O-CuK site issue itself, but maybe a request to service providings for investigation? *shrug*
been like it for 3-4weeks i think....

10 * * *
11 * * *

Looks like your blocking ICMP on the last hop.

Can you knock us up a traceroute from your end ?

Your ISP Technically doesnt stop till hop 9, where it would hit the Internet Exchange, and be handed over to OVH.

ok..... put it another way...

10.229.x.x = my work
172.16.x.x = my work
192.168.x.x = coventry university
193.x.x.x = cov uni

my work is the business side of coventry uni (called CUE) - not student/education side. we're completely independant from the university in terms of IT services, but we do get perks, like software licencing, JANET link, etc. since we have a SLA with CU, then i use the term 'provider' to mean 'coventry uni' and not 'JANET'.

once it gets to the far end of the fibre, that 172.16.x.x is on, it's no longer 'our' network tongue.gif

Regardless, your not loosing any packets along the way.

Maybe a transparent proxy is messing things up ?
