Seen it... recall it vaguely... but obviously not seen it often or been impressed by it or it'd stay in my mind a bit more...
So, you're judging an entire creative work based on 5 minute andy? You might want to consider actually taking a fair sample before being that assertive.

Actually in the cartoon the game is derived from a pseudo-ancient-egyptian form of battle on a mystical plain and carries very serious implications. Which isn't to say everyone playing it in the modern day and age is aware of that, quite the contrary. The series revolves around a number of powerful artifacts called the Millenium items, a person coming into possession of all seven will effectively attain godlike power.
In regards to the real world and kids at school, yes this is marketted to children, DUH, wouldn't make much of a profit if you confined yourself only to adults as an audience when it comes to card collecting games, I'd like however to point out I'm the one who voted "play it" so you may want to revise the term "kids". The game is strategically complex and quite challenging, and frankly till you can beat me at it you're in no position to dismiss it. And yes that IS a challenge to anyone who'd care to try next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

I do watch it with my son. It is one of the best thought out cartoons that has been produced since dungeons and dragons.. It has a decent storyline that follows through from day to day.
Kids do play it at school i know my son and his friends play it and the school seem addicted. The value of the cards on auction sites is amazing and some of them my son has 3 of!

well the film is due out q2/3 of this year so u can all grab a kid and go and watch it! you will see the cartoon has content! it is ###### adictive once you get into it!

Well i dont know if they are any good or not so i cant say if ilike them or not but when a grown man (43 years old partner of my aunties) bases his whole life on collecting these toys i can only think that this is a worrying state of affairs

The turtles in general do rule, insofar as the cartoons go, there were 3 series I think, the first frankly sucked ass, too repetitive, lame storylines and so forth, the second I seem to remember was a much shorter run but it was a lot more convincing, what I saw of it was enjoyable. The newest and current show I have no idea, I've only seen half an episode.

depends which Marik (whose name is spelled 78 different ways online so I have no idea which is right btw ) we're talking about, the original or the evil spirit. If original then Bakura's definitely ahead on the evil front, but the spirit inhabitting Marik has proven a better duelist and greater schemer that the other two combined so... Not sure a vote is called for mind you, there aren't enough people here who know wtf we're on about .

well i think there is going to be a twist to this and yu-gi is gonna be the evil one after assembling all the millenium items and getting all the god cards the power will consume his sole and then joey will ##### slapp him back to the past! hmmm but that is not going to happen cos yu-gi is a fudge packer. i think marik is the most cunning outta the 2!
*chuckle* well there's always that bit of bakura's essence hidden in the millenium puzzle to take into account as well, maybe do some creative brainwashing on our goody two shoes hero.
Two irritating things about this show, the occasional episode that's 95% repetition to the point where's it's not even confined to repeating previous episodes but things said earlier in the same one; and how damn nice the good guys are, ugh, show some character flaws fer heaven's sake, stop being so disgustingly decent about everything. I say add some raunchy bits and proper violence, be all set then

Oddly enough though the ultimate blue eyes white dragon fusion card doesn't seem to exist, least I can't find it anywhere.
Very nice, good lookin cards too, but not actually legal to play in tournament unfortunately

nope due to the price they were released and handed out at certain venues! just had to be there to get them. my son had a visit at school and 10 were handed out for a competition! he placed 2nd in the competition. was ####ed off he wasnt first as they got a 24carat gold plated card!

I have to say that i havent got a scooby doo what you guys are on about, and TBH cartoons peaked with X-Men. Now there was a cartoon to get yer teeth into, or yer claws.... Always had a soft spot for Wolverine, always will, and for Nightcrawler and Gambit.....
But then i dont think Hantai likes Wolverine very much.... i seem to remember him going off on one..... Guess he wont be too please that my name P-Dub comes from PRO_Wolverine lol

Err.... What ARE you talking about? X-Men the cartoon was complete unadulterated garbage, I say this being a huge X-Men fan and having watched every episode of the accursed thing when it was in its first run in the US many years ago, badly corrupted plots, poor continuity, terrible voice acting, and the animation itself was at best average stuff.
Do you mean X-Men the comic rather than cartoon? Or maybe X-Men Evolution? Evolution's pretty good, even though completely disconnected from the comic continuity.
Oh and everybody likes Wolverine, dunno where ya go that I don't. Them Adamantium (one of them names someone shoulda been shot for mind you) claws are mighty handy for getting all stabitty on people you don't like!

x-men the comic is the only way to go. the cartoon series just never had the same edge!
I liked the cartoon, and yeah i do have the comics, pretty much all of them, until it split into like 90 offshoots, then i stopped buying them, all except for Generation X which was actually pretty good...

I suppose it takes all sorts to make the world go round, but i loved that the Cartoon Network one christmas had an X-Men day and i never moved from the chair all day.... was awesome lol

Hmm, "Abomination" sounds like me yep, but it wouldn't have been Wolverine I was talking about, unless it was a very specific incarnation thereof, but I can't think of one I feel that strongly about offhand.
Last time I checked Cartoon Network are linked to X-Men Evolution (via toonami, which is now its own channel), not X-Men. The sucky X-Men toon is a Fox product available as a continuous repeat loop till the end of time on Fox Kids.

Wolverine rules. In fact i hear he gets his own movie after x-men 3. Evolution is better than the original cartoon, although he needs to get back to calling everyone "bub".
On a seperate note, recently saw graceful charity used to send dark magician to the graveyard then put on the field with monster reborn. Then used his normal summon to get gai the fierce knight. Cheeky...
Oh, and you'll probably beat me as i ain't that good. Played the pc game of yu-gi a bit (don't buy it, waste of money) and thats all.

yeah using a gc discard to res a powerful monster onto the playing field is pretty handy, lets you dodge a normal summon trap as well.
Although raigeki can also ruin your day quite substantially. But its when the cards come together into a great 1 move combo that you can really feel the pain.
